This is a HUGE first for me. Its the first time I've decided to just hop in my car, drive a few hundred miles away, attend a conference in which I know NO ONE, and stay with people I haven't actually met face to face. But I couldn't be more thrilled to take this plunge into the unknown....feet first, drenched from head to toe.
But enough of that. I'm supposed to be writing about the following: (as a meet and greet for people attending the conference)--->
So here goes:
3 "get to know me" things
2 things I'm excited about the conference
1 thing I can't leave home without
Getting to know me:
1. I've been married to my sweet hubby going on 8 years just after the new year. He is everything I didn't know I needed. But God knew. I have 2 amazing kids. Our son is 5, our daughter almost 3. I stay home with them. It's what I've always wanted to do...some days I just have to remind myself that when I'm completely exhausted and feeling like I can't get a thing right. But I've never known God's grace, love, and forgiveness like I do now that I'm a mom. The hardest job you'll ever love.
2. I'm a Nashvillian. I moved here in 2000 to pursue a career in music. However, that's a little tough when you have a bad case of stage fright. God has lead me on a different path than I expected. But a good one, nonetheless. Since moving here I've discovered a passion for writing, learning new instruments, and using my gifts to worship my Creator.
3. I'm addicted to coffee and chocolate. Now, I know a lot of people that would say this about themselves. But...I'm a diehard when it comes to the two. I prefer French Roast coffee, although I'll take whatever I can get my hands on when the kids come calling at obscene hours of the day. And chocolate? Firstly, dark is just better. And add in a little sea salt for good measure? HEAVENLY. I'm convinced there will be chocolate in heaven...and if I'm wrong, I know there will be something much better (although my finite brain cannot even imagine what that would be). Oh, and I eat chocolate every day...you heard me...DAILY.
What I'm excited about
1. Although it makes my neck and chest get red and blotchy just thinking about it...I'm SO EXCITED about meeting new people...especially the people whose blogs I've followed and who's hearts I've gotten to know through their writing. FACE TO FACE will be so sweet.
2. The speakers! I am all about soaking up all the wisdom and insight and perspective from other women who are passionate about what they do and who want to bless others with their experience and knowledge thus far in their journey. AWESOME!
What I can't leave without
1. Ok, don't judge. My iPhone. Firstly, (since I'm driving there) I need the GPS...because I'm hopeless with directions. Yah, you read that right...WITH directions. I need something that says, turn HERE now...and then if I don't turn "here" it will tell me where I can turn to get back to the place I should have turned. (you see what I'm saying...pitiful). And I will not be able to do without talking to my husband and sweet ones while I'm gone. And of course, I'm going to have to take ONE BILLION pictures because I'm obsessed with Instagram.

me and my love (I might be wearing this exact outfit to The Stripes Par-tay...gotta work whatcha got, right?)

our munchkins....ADORABLE. I'm biased, but others have been known to agree. ;-)
